VuBridge Frequently Asked Questions

Here is the link that will take you to your VuBridge product http://www.vubridge.fr/FR/USRegister.php

Question:

I am having to register every time on a PC / Mac.

Answer:

It looks like your computer's settings don't accept "cookies". When a subscriber registers with their email address, that address is stored by the web browser as a small file named a "cookie" that is linked to Vu-Bridge website. Then, on subsequent visits your email is pulled back from that cookie file. So, your browser must accept "cookies". Open system settings in your web browser and look for Cookies, that must be allowed from all websites.

Question:

I am having to register every time on an iPad / iPhone.

Answer:

Open your system settings / Safari section and make sure Cookies are allowed from all websites. Otherwise Vu-Bridge won't be able to recognize you and will ask for registration each time.

Question:

I am not receiving Vu-Bridge emails.

Answer:

Sometimes our emails are blocked on certain computers. Make sure your Internet Provider doesn't block emails from domains vubridge.fr and vubridge.com and Vubridge.net. Or maybe they go to your spam folder? In such case please try to change your mail software setting in order to accept incoming emails from domains vubridge.fr and vubridge.com. (you could ask your local computer shop how to do that). But the recommended way to access ALL your quizzes is to open www.vubridge.com and click on "My Account", then scroll down to find the quizzes.

Question:

I am unable to register on iPad / iPhone / Mac.

Answer:

The issue is "Private Browsing" is "On" on your device which prevents Vu-Bridge from recognizing you. Here's how to turn "Off" "Private Browsing" on your iPad (similar on iPhone): First, launch Safari and locate the tab browser icon in the upper-right section of the screen (it looks like two stacked rectangles).

Tap this icon and you'll see a list of all of your open tabs, along with open tabs on your other devices if you have iCloud tabs enabled. At the top of this screen, find and tap the word Private. Your currently open tabs will slide away and you'll see a message in the center of the screen telling you that Private Browsing Mode is now enabled. Just tap the plus icon at the top of the screen to create a new tab in private browsing mode.

You'll know that you're in private browsing mode if the navigation bar at the top of the screen is dark gray, as opposed to the usual light gray/white color.

To leave private browsing mode, tap the tab browser icon again to bring up your open tab list, and then tap Private again to turn private browsing off.

Remember that private browsing doesn't protect you from website's malware. It is only hiding your traces from other users of the same iPad.

Question:

My cards are messed up on an iPad

Answer:

Question:

How do I clear Cache and Cookies on Safari

Answer:

  • Click Safari in the upper left hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
  • In the window that appears, click the Privacy tab. Click the button Remove All Website Data....
  • Click Remove Now in the pop up window that appears.
Question:

I can't see my latest V-Blue Year 3 or V-Green 2016 issues.

Answer:

This comes from a browser's local memory cache issue when the web browser "thinks" you don't have to refresh the web page from the VuBridge web site, leaving the customer with an old "image" of the content. To fix it, users must completely clear the memory cache, internet temporary files, history AND cookies. Here's how this can be done with Chrome and Firefox:

Chrome:

Click on the tools menu and then "Settings". Then click on "History" and "Clear browsing data":

Then click on "Obliterate the following items from the beginning of time" and make sure that the following are checked: "Browsing history", "Cookies and other site and plugin data", "Cached images and files", and "Hosted app data". Then click on "Clear browsing data". Finally close and reopen Chrome.

Firefox:

Click on the tools menu and then "History"

Then click on "Clear Recent History" and "Clear All History" with "Time range to clear: Everything" and make sure that the following are checked: "Browsing & Download History", "Cookies", "Cache", and "Offline Website Data", then click on "Clear Now". Close and reopen Firefox.

Question:

How do I make bookmarks and favorites

Answer:

Safari -

  • From Safari, navigate to the web site you want to add to the Favorites index page
  • Tap the share button, it looks like a square with an arrow pointing out of it
  • Choose "Bookmark" from the options
  • The default location should be "Favorites", but tap on Location and select 'Favorites' if not
  • Tap on "Save" to add the website to the Safari index Favorites page
Note that if you don't see the share icon and back/forward buttons, you need to tap on the URL. Don't double-tap it otherwise you'll summon the on-page text search feature. This can be a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple, and it's the same in Safari for any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS7 or newer.

To add favorites to the Internet Explorer Channel bar, follow these steps:
  • Open the Web site in Internet Explorer.
  • On the Favorites menu, click Add To Favorites.
  • Right-click the favorite you want to add to the Channel bar, and then click Copy.
  • Right-click the Channels folder, and then click Paste.
To add favorites to Firefox, follow these steps:
  • In Firefox, browse to the website you wish to bookmark. Select the search bar and enter in the address. Any webpage is a valid bookmark target.
  • Bookmark the page. In the toolbar at the top of the screen, click on the Star icon. The icon will fill in and the page will be added to your bookmarks. On Windows or OSX, the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + D or ⌘ Cmd + Drespectively.
  • Edit the bookmark to customize it to your liking. Tap the Star icon again to edit and a popup will appear. Here you can name the bookmark, change its location in your bookmarks folder, or remove it entirely. Press "Done" and the changes will be saved. By default bookmarks are saved to the bookmarks toolbar. This popup appears automatically if you use the keyboard shortcut to create your bookmark. If it is not active by default, press the Clipboard icon next to the Star icon and select Bookmarks Toolbar > View Bookmarks Toolbar for easy access to your bookmarks.
